There’s a growing trend globally to embrace the naturalistic world within our gardens. In the book WILD: The Naturalistic Garden, noted Noel Kingsbury and photographer Claire Takacs explore and document 40 gardens around the world. Each garden receives 4-8 pages of Kingsbury’s words and Takacs’s photographs capturing the essence of each horticultural experience.

One of LWLA’s oldest meadow landscapes receives a feature in this beautiful book, published by Phaidon Press in 2022. The project is located in Litchfield County, CT and was designed and installed beginning in 2013. It features meadow gardens around the house that transition into a low meadow and pond edge. The long-standing relationship with this landscape has informed the firm’s deep knowledge of ecological processes, design and planting methodologies, and strategies for guiding the wild landscape.

LWLA was honored to be included in this stunning book, and the LWLA team has enjoyed using the other projects included as inspiration.
