This 7.5-acre seeded meadow modeled on coastal grasslands transformed the visitor experience as well as the maintenance regime for large areas of a popular park.

Kosciuszko Park, a 20-acre waterside park, was a former landfill, capped and planted with turf grasses.  With meadow replacing large areas of turf, the park has become a frequent birding spot with a more dynamic setting for passive recreation.  In addition to these benefits, LWLA’s meadow has significantly reduced mowing requirements, enabling maintenance personnel to focus on other critical projects.
