Nearly 30 acres of native meadow allow this Library of Congress facility – a former bunker – to sit gently in the pastoral landscape.

As a consultant to SWA Group, LWLA helped develop seed mixes and meadow specifications for the meadows.  Some of the meadow areas are intended to succeed to woodland while two acres of the meadow extend onto the five-acre green roof.  As these designed natural areas have matured, the massive building complex housing the nation’s audio visual archive becomes one with the landscape.
