Solace and contemplation, coiled into nature’s fabric.
The 206-acre Avalon Nature Preserve spans five distinct habitats, curling through trails, vistas and native meadows. In a years-long planting effort with Andropogon Associates, our team rehabilitated the most public-facing landscape along the preserve’s boardwalk, frog pond, as well as its pièce de résistance: the stone labyrinth.
Strategically designed with deer-resistant perennials, the labyrinth and its surrounds let the mind and body wander, incorporating fallen trees, access to water and native vegetation to build on the preserve’s placid naturalism.
